Most universities and teaching hospitals offer low-cost testing and evaluation for learning disabilities for children and adults through their graduate and Ph.D. Programs.
These clinics are staffed by graduate and Ph.D. candidate students as part of their training under the supervision of an experienced licensed psychologist.
They offer evaluations at lower fees or a sliding scale and are free to low income families. You can contact your local college, university or a training hospital and ask if they operate a clinic that performs testing evaluations.
By law, all evaluations for school-age children are free.
Children who are struggling in learning are entitled to assessment process. You can request a free evaluation from your child’s school as defined by IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act)
